I grew up in the South where food is everything–food is love, comfort, and tradition. It took many years for me to realize that above all else, food is health. What we put in our bodies directly affects our health more than any other thing we do in our daily lives.

Like most young girls, I struggled with my body image and went on every fad diet out there: from cabbage soup to no fat, no carbs, severe calorie restriction – whatever was out there, I did it! It wasn’t until I STOPPED dieting that I found my ideal weight and became confident with my body.

Bottom line: traditional “diets” don’t work. They involve deprivation, feelings of hunger, and worst of all, judgment, when you inevitably fall off the wagon.

Stop torturing yourself and start making Joyful changes that fuel the life that you were meant to have. Learn how to make choices that will enhance your health and your entire life!

Even after realizing that real food (aka non-processed, chemical, and artificial ingredient-laden) helped me drop pounds without even trying, I experienced digestive issues that took my nutritional journey even deeper.
